Miles Jellinek Memorial Shabbat 8:00 PM The Choral Arts Society of Philadelphia Chamber Chorus with Jody Kidwell and Matthew Glandorf Performing Avodath Hakodesh: Sacred Service The Choral Arts Society of Philadelphia, directed by Matthew Glandorf, is a 60-voice choir founded in 1982 in Philadelphia. They will be singing Ernest Bloch’s Avodath Ha-Kodesh: The Sacred Service, which Bloch composed for the Sabbath Morning Service for a Reform congregation in San Francisco. The piece is based upon the text of the American Union Prayer Book for Jewish Worship.
