UNITED COMMUNITIES CSFP LEAD VOLUNTEER
A lead volunteer is needed to be at United Communities of South Philadelphia (8th & Snyder) at 2:45 PM on the 3rd Tuesday of every month to assist with the distribution of food boxes. The lead volunteer will assist the volunteer delivery drivers with loading the foThe Mitzvah Food Project operate 6 pantries in the Philadelphia area and provides food and basic staples in a caring and dignified manner to those in our community who are in need. We currently have several volunteer opportunities in the Center City area.
CSFP DELIVERY DRIVERS
As part of a collaborative project with United Communities of South Philadelphia, Philabundance, and the Commodity and Supplemental Food Program, food boxes are distributed on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. The food boxes are picked up at 3 PM at United Communities (8th & Snyder) and delivered to recipients in South Philadelphia. Routes generally take 30-45 minutes. A regular volunteer delivery driver and at least two backup delivery drivers are needed. Backup delivery drivers are contacted in advance when regular delivery drivers are not available.
The lead volunteer will also be in charge of the recipient list.
SOUTH PHILADELPHIA DELIVERY DRIVERS
One regular volunteer driver and at least two backup volunteer drivers are needed to deliver food packages to recipients in South Philadelphia on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month. Time can be adjusted according to volunteer’s schedules. Food packages are picked up at the Jewish Communal Services building (2100 Arch Street) and delivered to recipients in South Philadelphia. Routes generally take 30 minutes. Backup volunteer drivers are contacted in advance when regular volunteer drivers are not available.
