summer shabbat series
Fridays, July 6 - August 31 at 6pm
In celebration of summer, we offer a series of discussions during the Shabbat Service. All services will begin at 6pm and will be preceded by a "pre-oneg Shabbat" starting at 5:30pm. Our goal is to have a wonderful Shabbat experience to which you can bring your family and friends, and still be able to go home, or out to Shabbat dinner together.
On the Seventh Day, we pause
enough to contemplate our purpose in this world, to celebrate and give
thanks for our blessings and to connect to that which is greater than
ourselves: to family, friends, community, world, God. This summer, we
will focus our Friday evening sermon-discussion on the topics related to
Shabbat, inspired by Dr. Eitan Fishbane's book, The Sabbath Soul: Mystical Reflections on the Transformative Power of Holy Time (Jewish Lights, 2011). Check out the Summer Series schedule.
