Caring Community

Support Group for Parents of Adolescent and Adult Children Living with Addiction and Related Brain Diseases

We meet regularly to learn more about substance use and mental health disorders; share experiences/resources; and explore how to appropriately support our adolescent and adult children. Anonymity respected.

We meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from 7-8:30 pm.

No affiliation with RS is necessary. No charge.

Munch & Mitzvah

Please join the camaraderie of Caring Community's Munch & Mitzvah when we gather to assemble festive gift bags for our fellow members who cannot participate in congregational life here on site. Bring your own lunch. Snacks will be served.

We also need volunteers to deliver. This is a simple and meaningful opportunity to connect with members of our RS Family whom we don't often get to see. Munchies will be provided. We will finish assembling bags on December 13 at 5:00pm.

Berkman ML Mitzvah Day

One great opportunity is for the whole family to attend the Rodeph Shalom Martin Luther King, Jr.  Mitzvah Day together.  This event will take place from 9:30 am until approximately 12pm on January 15th, right here at RS.  Because the whole morning will consist of putting Jewish teachings into action, it takes the place of our regular Berkman Mercaz Limud session.

Munch & Mitzvah

For the past several years, we have gathered at RS to compose small Chanukah gift packages for our congregants who have difficulty getting to our building. Working together, we are able to produce about 50 attractive gifts within a short period of time. These are delivered to the congregants, at which time a friendly conversation may ensue, and a new and important relationship begun. Please join us for an enjoyable hour to help us prepare the Chanukah gifts and messages. Drinks will be provided, but do bring your lunch, as the time (12:00pm) coincides with lunch time.
