RSTY 1-2-3, 4-5 Pop Rock & Painting

RSTY 1-2-3 and RSTY 4-5 will enjoy an afternoon of a pop-rock (hip hop dance) class taught by a professional dancer and a step-by-step canvas painting class by a professional artist! 1st-2nd-3rd graders will participate in classes as one group, while 4th-5th graders will be in a separate group, and each group will have a chance to enjoy both activities with their peers.

Dress for a mess and to dance!
*The activities will begin at 1:15 pm (after youth choir) -- children who are not in youth choir will have a pizza lunch in Teller.*

Purim Celebration & Carnival

Everyone will start out in the sanctuary at 9:30 to listen to the clergy read the Megillah (scroll of Esther) and explain the story within.  Please feel free to bring little brothers and sisters to this service. It is the custom to be very loud and silly, and it always features a creative reenactment of the Purim story starring the clergy (and I usually get to participate too!).  When we hear Haman’s name, we boo and shake our groggers.

Shofar Lessons

Learn to blow the shofar
Shofar lessons with Rabbi Eli Freedman will be offered to all ages on Sunday
September 25 at 12:30pm in the Sanctuary.
Shofars are currently 50%
off in the RS gift shop, thanks to the Men of RS!

At the end of the concluding service on Yom Kippur on Wednesday, October 12, congregants of all
ages are invited to participate in the "Great Blast of Shofars." Bring your shofar and help us create a beautiful sound.
